Erin Rochon is a Interior Decorator, an avid upcycler, thrifter, and furniture refinishing artisan. She has passion for creating beautiful spaces by merging the world of upcycling and DIY together with Interior Design.
With her eye for finding beauty in the unexpected, she can often be found hitting up her local thrift stores to find tired but unique furniture and décor. Or at her studio painting furniture while listening to 90’s Hip Hop, running her shop Bluebird Upcycle, spending time with her husband and 2 teenage boys in Ottawa, Canada.
Erin worked for many years in Child Welfare and Community Development field, with the intention that this would be her life long career. She took the leap, became an Interior Decorator and threw herself into the upcycling and design world.
Within a few years of starting Bluebird Upcycled Style, Erin has built a successful business and has become a creative force in Ottawa, inspiring others to upcycle and create through her workshops and classes. Often appearing on CTV Ottawa Morning Live and Daytime Ottawa, sharing current design trends with a twist. Erin loves incorporating upcycling and thrifting into designs trends, teaching viewers through her vlogs and blogs. She was thrilled to be a guest blogger for Celebrity Interior Designer Amanda Forrest as her first blog . Erin continues to blog about her passions; thrifting, Interior Design, painting furniture and has recently been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 50 Interior Design blogs and is a Creative Expert for Salvation Army Canada.
After 5 years Erin rebranded to Erin Rochon Design, offering a more personalized approach to our services, new ways for our clients to learn and get creative. In 2019, she developed and hosted a TV show called The Thrifty Upcycler airing on Rogers TV. Erin is also a featured expert on The Marilyn Denis Show, a multi award winning Canadian national lifestyle and entertainment talk show.
